What to Expect During Your First Brazilian Wax
What to Expect During Your First Brazilian Wax
If you're reading this, chances are you've been thinking about getting a Brazilian wax for a while now.
You've probably Googled every question imaginable. Does it hurt? Is it awkward? What if I'm nervous? What if I don't know what to do?
First things first—take a deep breath. Almost every first-time client walks in feeling nervous, and by the end of the appointment they're usually saying, "That wasn't nearly as bad as I thought."
Before Your Appointment
For the best results, you'll want about 2-3 weeks of hair growth. If you're used to shaving, this can be the hardest part.
Try not to trim or shave before your appointment. I promise I've seen every stage of hair growth imaginable, and there is absolutely no judgment here.
Also, wear something comfortable. Loose clothing is always a good idea after a wax.
When You Arrive
We'll start by chatting for a minute. If it's your first wax, I'll explain the process, answer any questions, and make sure you're comfortable before we begin.
And if you're nervous? Tell me.
Seriously.
You would not be my first nervous client, and you definitely won't be my last.
During the Wax
I'm not going to lie to you and say you won't feel anything.
Some areas are more sensitive than others, especially during your first appointment. But I work quickly, talk you through the process, and check in with you throughout the appointment.
Most clients say the anticipation is actually worse than the wax itself.
And yes, we can absolutely chat the whole time if that helps distract you.
Is It Awkward?
Honestly? Not for me.
This is what I do every day.
I promise I'm not judging your body, your hair growth, your stretch marks, or anything else you might be worried about.
My goal is simply to make you feel comfortable and give you the best wax possible.
After Your Wax
It's normal to have some mild redness or sensitivity for a short time after your appointment.
For the first 24-48 hours, I recommend avoiding:
Hot tubs and saunas
Intense workouts
Tight clothing
Excessive heat or friction
Sexual activity
After a few days, gentle exfoliation and moisturizing will help keep your skin smooth and happy.
